Phillip, Lucky, and why the business has the dog's name on it.
One trainer. One truck. A pit bull who came first and a Malinois who keeps everyone honest.
The short version
Five years of big, difficult dogs.
Phillip Greene started training the way a lot of good trainers do: with his own dog, and then with the dogs nobody else at the rescue wanted to walk. The pit bulls with the cage-fighter reputations and the soft eyes. The shepherds that had been "returned twice". The dogs whose paperwork said "reactive" in someone's careful handwriting.
That was around Atlanta, where he spent years volunteering with a rescue, running community outings and taking private clients. In 2026 he moved the business to Mooresville, on the Iredell side of Lake Norman, and Lucky's K9 Solutions became a North Carolina company. The photos on this site are mostly from those Georgia years, because that's where the camera was. The work is the same.
He trains in people's homes because that's where the dog lives, and on their streets because that's where the problem is. He doesn't run a facility and doesn't want one.
In his words
With 5 years of experience in canine training, I specialize in fear-free and balanced training methods tailored to each dog's unique needs. My goal is to build confidence, strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners, and create lasting, positive behavior through clear communication, patience, and consistency.
Lucky
Lucky is the gray-and-white pit bull on the logo, on the dock, on the summit, in the creek. He's Phillip's own dog and his personal service animal. He's also the reason Phillip has patience for owners who are told their dog is "too much": he's heard it, and he's got the counter-argument lying at his feet.
You'll also see a Belgian Malinois in a lot of the photos, a black-and-white pit mix, and a gray standard poodle. They belong to Phillip's life and work in various ways, and they show up to outings. If you want to know who's who, ask him; he'll tell you more than you asked.

The vet thing
One idea comes up on every page of this site because it comes up on every first call: a lot of "behavior problems" are health problems wearing a costume. Pain, thyroid, gut, ears, a medication that changed. Phillip isn't a vet and won't pretend to be one. He asks the questions, notices the patterns, and sends people to their vet when that's the honest next step. He'd like to be the trainer your vet is glad you called.
Where this is going
A small business with a specific ambition.
Year one is simple: a steady group of Lake Norman families and their dogs, a regular outing calendar, and a reputation with the local shelters and rescues as the person to call when an adopter is struggling. After that: partnerships with vets who want a trainer they can refer to without wincing, and eventually a second pair of hands. A mobile setup is on the list for later.
